Costume Combat Reservations: Privacy Notice
This notice explains what personal information Ambush Paintball collects for Costume Combat reservations, why we collect it, and your rights under British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
Who we are
Ambush Paintball, 7550 160 Street, Surrey, BC V3S 3T2, Canada, operates Costume Combat and is responsible for the personal information described in this notice.
Our Privacy Officer handles our compliance with this notice and can be reached at info@ambushpaintball.com or 604-812-2379.
What we collect and why
To reserve your spot at Costume Combat, we collect:
- Your first name, and optionally your last name
- Your email address
- How many people you're bringing
- How you plan to attend
- Your confirmation that you are 19 or older
We collect this only to reserve your tickets and plan the event. We don't use it to build a profile of you, and we don't use it for anything beyond running Costume Combat and following up about it afterward.
Marketing communications
Ambush Paintball will only send you marketing communications, including news, events, promotions, and updates, if you have given express consent to receive them. This consent is obtained through an opt-in mechanism at the time of reservation, and is entirely separate from, and not a condition of, your reservation.
In accordance with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL):
- We maintain a record of the consent you provided, including its exact wording and the date and time it was given.
- Every marketing communication we send will identify Ambush Paintball as the sender and include our business mailing address and contact information.
- Every marketing communication will include a functional unsubscribe mechanism, which will remain active for no less than 60 days.
You may withdraw your consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in any marketing communication, or by contacting us directly at info@ambushpaintball.com. Unsubscribe requests are given effect immediately, and in all cases no later than 10 business days, as required by law. Withdrawing consent to marketing communications will not affect your reservation.
How we protect it
To keep the reservation form safe from spam, we store a one-way hashed (scrambled) version of your IP address and your general browser type (for example, "mobile Safari"). We cannot reverse the hashed value back into your actual IP address.
More broadly, we use security safeguards matched to the sensitivity of the information we hold, including access controls on our systems, to protect everything we collect.
Where your information is stored
Your information is stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) servers located in Montreal, Quebec. AWS processes it only on our instructions and is contractually required to protect it; under PIPA's accountability principle, we remain responsible for your information no matter where it's stored or who processes it for us.
We don't sell your information, and we don't share it with anyone else for their own marketing purposes.
How long we keep it
We keep reservation details only as long as needed for the event and its follow-up, then delete them.
If you agree to marketing, we keep the record of your consent while we're emailing you, and for up to three years afterward, so we can show that you agreed if ever asked.
Your rights
You can:
- Access the personal information we hold about you by contacting us; we'll respond within 30 business days.
- Correct anything that's inaccurate or incomplete.
- Withdraw consent to marketing emails at any time, using the unsubscribe link in any email or by emailing info@ambushpaintball.com. Unsubscribing never affects your reservation.
- Ask us to delete your reservation details, subject to anything we're legally required to keep.
How to raise a concern
If you have a question or concern about how we've handled your information, contact us first at info@ambushpaintball.com or 604-812-2379; we'll look into it and respond.
